Give yourself about ten weeks to train for an event. If you have never run a half marathon or the distance you are signed up for then it is a good amount of time to get your body use to the event. Running is a simple act that doesn’t require any fancy equipment. You can do it anywhere, anytime and virtually in any city in the world.

Pick a Buddy

According to Running USA, 59% of runners in half marathons are women.  Which means you won’t be alone in your training. You don’t have to go it alone. You can pick a buddy to help you reach your goal. Training buddies are a good way to make sure you stay accountable and on task.

Don’t just drink water during your workouts; make sure to drink plenty before and after. Also as an athlete you want to make sure you are drinking and eating other proper foods. Take care of yourself by brushing your teeth daily, flossing and using mouthwash. The more you care for your health, the better you will feel. Take care of yourself for a super star finish.
