Make Time for You – Exercise!

Weight loss is all about eating right and exercising –that’s it. It may sound simple enough, but for many who want to achieve weight loss results have a hard time balancing that lifestyle. Working out, mixed in with eating right and life. Multi-tasking may not come easily for many, but as long as you focus on the goal before you and stay motivated, adding in any kind of workout routine will eventually become second nature. Whether you have to squeeze it in at your lunch break at the office, get up a little earlier or during your children’s nap time, it can be done. Just know that you are not alone in this crazy balancing act, but once you get there and start seeing results, all of that hard work and dedication will be a very sweet reward.

SET A GOAL

Remember when beginning a weight loss journey or starting an exercise routine, set a goal. This can be anything. Whether vowing to wake up every morning at 5 am to sneak a run in every morning for a month or losing 20 pounds before that big event, strive to accomplish something within a certain time frame. This will help keep you motivated to keep working hard and setting goals for yourself will help keep you on track. Not wanting to fail on yourself is a good motivator to keep going and feel proud of yourself.

BE CONSISTENT

It is important when living a healthy lifestyle that to stay the course and see results you need to be consistent in everything you do. Whether working out every day, eating right or drinking plenty of fluids. Staying on the right track day in and day out will keep you from straying and eating something that is unhealthy or not part of your diet plan. Remember that one slip does not mean you have ruined the day. Just start right back up as if it did not happen and continue your day.

FIT IN YOUR SCHEDULE

For some this is easier said than done. But, remember it can be done. Look at your schedule and see where you can make time for you. That is what it is about. Working out is time set aside for you to focus on what you need to do for yourself to be the best you can be in other areas of your life. Maybe you are not a morning person, but that is the time of the day that is available for squeezing in a workout. Getting up early and working out can set the tone for the rest of the day and the healthy choice that you make. That means going to bed a little earlier to make sure you still get the sleep you need. Pick a time that works for you either every morning or every other day, whatever works for you and pencil it in. If it is on the calendar, it is set in stone.

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE

Rome was not built in a day, nor will you see results that fast either –but you will see results. It is important that you stay focused, especially if you hit a plateau and in a rut. Your body is adjusting to the workouts and food that you are giving it and will begin to change. As long as you stay positive, stay patient and stay focused, the pounds will melt away and you will start feeling great again.

Losing weight is the hard work you put in with each workout combined with the right diet. If you feel that maybe something is not working or needs to be adjusted, contact a professional or someone at your gym to help you adjust certain areas in your routine to make them fit, so you can eventually fit into your goal jeans hiding in your closet –we all have them! Stay hydrated all day and remember this is a goal for you.

You need to be in charge of this lifestyle and the way to do that is to stay motivated and prepared to make time for every workout.
